I have seen much posted on Facebook and other social media sites

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the issue of Stolen Valor, and it’s truly sickening. Some individuals feel the need to bask in the glory of true heroes those who risk their lives for us not to gain fame or notoriety, but out of genuine courage and selflessness. It’s appalling that there are people who exploit disasters or tragedies for their own benefit, and equally appalling are those who protect these individuals to serve their own interests.
If they can lie about something as sacred as this, what else are they capable of lying about? It’s an insult not only to the heroes who put their lives on the line but also to the families of victims and, most of all, to the memory of the dead.
One tragedy that has been exploited by such individuals is 9/11. The loss that day wasn’t just America’s; nearly every country in the world mourned people taken in that horrific event. Families across the globe still grieve, feeling the pain as if it happened yesterday. Stolen Valor is an insult to all of us, and those responsible must be held accountable for their actions.
I won’t name anyone here they deserve nothing, not even my pity. Instead, I choose to honor the real heroes. May all those lost in 9/11 rest peacefully, and may those who falsely claim valor face the consequences they deserve.
To all the true heroes out there: thank you.
